Einkaufsgeschäft, Lebensmittelgeschäft, Supermarkt 700 m, Restaurant 350 m, Zentrum zu Fuss in 10 Minuten erreichbar, Bushaltestelle Lauterbrunnen (by train) 3.7 km, Bahnstation Wengen 700 m, Freibad 900 m. Tennis, Luftseilbahn, Skisportanlagen, Skischule, Eisfeld 700 m. Bekannte Seen in der Umgebung sind gut erreichbar: Thunersee 13 km, Brienzersee 13 km. Bitte beachten: autofreie Ferienanlage. Die Anreise erfolgt mit der Bergbahn. Weitere Unterkünfte sind buchbar. Wir verbrachten eine sehr erholsame Ferienwoche in dieser gemütlichen Ferenwohnung. Die Wohnung entsprach vollständig unseren Erwartungen: klein aber fein! Einziger Mängel: Anreise zwischen 16-19 Uhr, Abreise bereits bis spätestens 11 Uhr, wir wären gerne länger geblieben...
Een leuk appartement met een prachtig uitzicht op de Breithorn en de Jungfrau.

Vanaf de woning een steil paadje naar het centrum van het dorp. Goed te doen als je een rustig tempo aanhoudt.
The apartment we stayed in at Chalet Rose in Wengen was a studio apartment for a couple. The apartment was clean and well equipped, with a coffee maker, fridge, hob and a good selection of pots, glasses, crockery and cutlery. I would perhaps have liked another pillow as the bed only came with one quite flat pillow on each side. The shower room was small but perfectly adequate. There are communal laundry facilities in the chalet which you can use.
The best feature of the apartment was the balcony and view - an amazing panorama across the Lauterbrunnen valley with the Jungfrau and Breithorn to one side. Spectacular.
The only small downside to the apartment is the location. On the map it looks like it is very central. It is, but the village centre and train station are well above the apartment. There are two ways to the village - one is around 15 minutes walk and is a long uphill path, the other is a much shorter walk but very steep. These paths in summer were fine but I would not be keen to be walking them in ski boots in winter. There is a village taxi which we used when leaving to avoid having to carry our luggage up the paths.
The chalet is not the easiest to find and the directions given are not really adequate. You can enter from either side of the chalet and only one side had the name on it. The lady who was the contact for the keys lives next door and was very friendly and helpful. I phoned her a few days before arrival and she was able to clarify the directions to the chalet. I had emailed her on the address given a week or so beforehand and she did not reply so the phone is probably the best way to go.
Overall, I would recommend the apartment. It has everything you need, is clean and well equipped and has superb views.
